Our Story

About Us

We are located in the Red Mountain AVA between West Richland and Benton City. Wild Hare Lavender is blessed with an incredible panoramic view of the Horse Heaven Hills, Mt. Adams and the Rattle Snake Mountain range. Surrounded by vineyards, wineries and big open sky. Which gives us incredible sunsets!

We have been caring for an acre of lavender since 2019. We grow several varieties, Folgate, Royal Velvet, Provence, Grosso and more. When in full bloom the field displays breathe taking shades of dark blues to deep purples and is soothed by the fragrance and sound of buzzing bees.

Our Growing Method

Our method is all natural, no pesticides or fertilizers. The cutting and pruning are performed with hand tools. The soil is sandy loam, the plants have good drainage, watering is a drip system. We have bee hives here at the farm courtesy of Two Sisters Honey, that collects the sweet lavender nectar. Lavender honey is prized for its color and taste. We are looking forward to see how much honey the bees give us!

Wildlife

Our lavender attracts a diverse mix of wildlife. Bees are the most visible and audible of our natural inhabitants during the summer, but the farm is also home to hares, cottontail, butterflies, quail, killdeer and many more.
